Healing & Support for Women with Endometriosis

Endometriosis is one of the leading causes of pelvic pain and infertility, affecting up to 15% of women. Despite the prevalence of endometriosis, it's poorly understood by scientists and doctors and the physical, emotional and social impact on women who have the disorder is often overlooked.

Women with endometriosis have to regularly cope with chronic pain, low energy levels, delays in diagnosis and side-effects from treatment methods. The debilitating nature of the disorder also interferes with women's relationships with partners, family, friends and places of work.

As a result, many women with endometriosis feel overwhelmed and experience a range of feelings such as frustration, anger, fear, loss of control, stress and depression.

But there is good news

Inner Health Solutions provide effective support for women who have endometriosis.

As a former Endometriosis sufferer for over 12 years, our women's health practitioner, Deborah Sheehy, is well equipped to support women suffering from endometriosis.

Deborah found that by taking an active role in the management of her own health, she was gradually able to overcome the disorder.

Her experiences provided the motivation to train as a complimentary health therapist in counselling, psychotherapy, meditation and healing, supporting others who suffer from chronic illness. She specialises in helping women with endometriosis improve the quality of their life, enhancing their physical and emotional health.

Deborah's understanding and expertise in counselling and healing are effective in helping women with endometriosis to:

  • Develop strategies for coping with physical and emotional impacts
  • Learn practical self-help and relaxation techniques to manage pain and stress
  • Learn the conventional medical approaches to treatment
  • Learn the complimentary approaches to treatment
  • Learn how to listen and respect the body's signals and energy levels
  • Gain relief from symptoms
  • Identify and overcome emotional difficulties undermining the ability to cope
  • Resolve relationship, family and workplace issues
  • Learn how to cope with fertility issues
  • Gain a new perspective of yourself and your passion and creativity for life
  • Discover your innate internal resources that help you heal at a deep level
  • Create a more healthy, balanced and fulfilling lifestyle

Deborah works with women on an individual and group support basis. All sessions are conducted in a confidential, respectful and supportive environment.

If you have endometriosis, Deborah encourages you to take charge of your life and play an active role in the management of your illness. Do not delay in seeking professional help. The moment you take action, you are on your way to healing and moving forward with your life.

"Since being diagnosed with Endometriosis 3 years ago, the combination of counselling and spiritual healing at Inner Health Solutions has been a key element in my healing process. I feel that working with Deborah through the sessions has greatly benefitted me physically, emotionally and mentally, but most of all it has helped me to better understand the connection between the mind and the body and through this understanding I have begun to heal myself. I found through the counselling that having an impartial and compassionate person to talk to, especially at the times when I felt like giving up and self destructing, helped me to release negative energy and focus on the way forward. While the spiritual healing helped balance my body's internal energy and put me into a state of total relaxation. I highly recommend these treatments to anyone dealing wtih illness, stress and/or emotional trauma, as I have gained immense help and healing from them."

About your practitioner

Deborah co-founded the Endometriosis Association of Ireland in 1987 and was Secretary for the first few years of its inception. She completed the first ever research study of “Irish Women’s Experiences with Endometriosis” which highlighted the physical, medical, social and emotional impact of the disorder on women in Ireland.

In 2003 Deborah moved to Melbourne, Australia. She is an active committee member of the Endometriosis Association of Victoria and works for the  Endometriosis Clinic as a Counsellor.

The Endometriosis Association is working with gynaecologists, scientists and support groups around the world to learn more about the disease so support and timely information can be provided for women and girls with the condition. Deborah is passionate about raising awareness of endometriosis and gives presentations to companies, health care workers and secondary schools on the nature of the disorder.
