Gerard O’Riley has over 20 years experience in the complementary health profession. In 2006 he started Inner Health Solutions with fellow health professional, Deborah Sheehy.
He has a Diploma of Remedial Therapies, a Certificate IV in Massage
and a Certificate in Traditional Chinese Therapy and Massage.
He is a Professional Member of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists (AAMT).
Gerard holds a Third Degree Black Belt in Traditional Martial Arts in which he has been training for over 24 years. These unique art forms incorporate Self Defence, Kung Fu, Chi Gong, Tai Chi and Meditation. He has been teaching various aspects of these art forms in Melbourne since 1996 and has also worked as a Group Fitness Instructor at Melbourne’s premier gym, City Club at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
Gerard provides a range of Corporate Health, Fitness and Wellbeing Programs to companies. These programs are specifically designed to help employees reduce stress, develop emotional intelligence, improve vitality and create healthy lifestyles.
He teaches and lectures at some of Melbourne’s top private and public secondary colleges in the areas of Massage, Chi Gong, Martial Arts, Self-Defence and Meditation. He also teaches Chi Gong and Meditation classes in Carnegie, Melbourne.
Gerard is passionate about educating people and passing on the health benefits that can be gained through incorporating any of these modalities into our lives. He utilizes all that he has learned through his personal experiences, years of training and practice in a unique and engaging style.
Deborah has worked in the mental health profession for over 18 years. She holds a First Class Honours Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy along with specialised qualifications in Couple’s Therapy. She has also completed Level 3 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and is a “Gottman Relationship Checkup” verified member. Deborah has particular experience and expertise in treating Depression, Anxiety, Stress and Couple’s Relationship issues. She is also a certified TRTP (The Richards Trauma Process) Practitioner, a dynamic step by step process involving gulded self-reflection and hypnosis that is safe, quick and effective at helping to resolve past distressing events, trauma and their related symptoms. Deborah is a Professional Clinical Member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and a member of the College of Counselling and the College of Relationship Counselling.
She also has a wealth of experience and expertise in the corporate environment, having worked as an Assistant Vice President of Human Resources with an international financial solutions company and as Office & Personnel Manager with Ireland’s leading business newspaper.
In 2003 Deborah moved from Dublin, Ireland to Melbourne, Australia and in 2006 she established Inner Health Solutions, along with fellow health professional Gerard O’Riley.
Her skills include Counselling, Psychotherapy, Couple’s Therapy, Groupwork, Mindfulness and Meditation. Through her warm, supportive and professional approach, Deborah has helped many men and women with a broad range of presenting issues including Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Trauma, Relationships, Marriage Counselling, Chronic Illness, Career Guidance, Personal Growth and Life Transitions.
Deborah also has a special interest in Women’s Health issues including Endometriosis, PMS, Chronic Pain, Infertility, Pregnancy, Miscarriage, Adoption, Post-Natal Depression & Menopause and has particular expertise in helping women to navigate these health issues and enhance their emotional and physical wellbeing. She co-founded the Endometriosis Assoc of Ireland and wrote the first ever Irish study on the psychological impact of the disorder. She was also an active committee member of the Endometriosis Assoc of Victoria and worked for the Melbourne Endometriosis Clinic as a Counsellor. She has helped to raise awareness of Endometriosis by giving presentations to companies, health care workers and secondary schools on the nature and impact of the disorder on women’s lives.
